The Duck Whisperer

It has been SO rainy here that we have barely been able to be outside all week.  The tiny American needs exercise and fresh air or he doesn't sleep very well so that means we take every opportunity to head outside between rain showers.  We are lucky to have a beautiful park right across the street and now what he is able to walk well and for longer periods of time without wanting his stroller we can just cross over and hang out there for awhile.   This day we didn't really make it very far before it started to lightly rain on us but we just kept going. Luckily it is warm so a little rain doesn't feel too bad.   Z wanted to catch the ducks and touch their toes!  He is a funny little guy, I know everyone thinks that about their child....but he REALLY is! He makes us laugh so much.

Scrap our Stash Challenge

This is for the Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge comes with a tic tac toe board of elements to include and a sketch.  The elements I included were yellow, summer theme and stripes.  Not having a very big stash at our new home limited me a little.  These papers from Pebbles and Echo Park worked well with this picture for the theme.  I roughed the papers up a little and am happy with the result I got.  I LOVE this picture of the boys!

Bye Bye BInky

It's been a big week for the Tiny American!  This week he gave up his binky stash.  We limited it to bedtime last week and on Monday he and I talked about it and I told him that big boys don't need binkys and we gathered them all up and threw them in the trash.  I was prepared for no naps and sleepless nights at least for a few days...nope, he did awesome!  He is an easy little guy and adapts well to change.  I have said before that we are so blessed with his disposition and that God knew exactly what kind of child we would need for this crazy life that we live.

What My Day Sounds Like

As he approaches two The Tiny American is very busy., very opinionated (shocker I know), and talks ALOT (big surprise right?).  He starts talking the moment he wakes up.  We hear him over the monitor talking to his "friends" in his bed or calling out for me.  He sleeps well so most often wakes up in a good mood and ready to take on the world!  I have to be very careful about what  I promise him when I am putting him to bed at night because he remembers it and that will be the very first request out of his mouth when I walk into his room.  For example last night when I was putting him to bed he said he wanted to do his marks (use his markers).  I told him we would in the morning....bedside this morning, "momma do marks?" Ummm...yes but could i get dressed first?
